The Hopi people live in the Painted Desert, residing atop three mesas. Mesas are giant tabletop mountains with sheer cliffs made of orange, brown, and red sandstone. The Hopi have prayed here for thousands of years. There are many different Hopi prayers, but in the end, almost all of them focus on bringing rain.
